Martine Vullierme

Former student at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon and Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées, agrégée de Mathématiques, Martine Vullierme was a visiting scholar in the Mathematics Department at Stanford (CA) in 1984-85. She holds a PhD in applied mathematics defended at Paris VI in 1987.

She joins Veolia Water in 1989, where she initially is Deputy Manager of a technical design office, before running the water treatment plant of Neuilly-sur-Marne for 6 years. She then holds executive positions in corporate context: Director of Human Resources in charge of executive managers (hiring, mobility, training), Deputy Director of the public service concessions Department for France, and Deputy Technical Director for Veolia Water.

In 2010, she moves to Veolia Environnement as Chief Risk Officer, then Marketing Director in 2012 (and Veolia Water Comex member) and joins in 2014 the executive committee of the Africa Middle East zone (10 000 employees, Bn€1,2 revenue), to take over Operations, Strategy and Innovation. She especially worked at developing innovative and inclusive business models in Africa.

From 2019 on, she creates her own consulting firm, using her cross-disciplinary business perspective which she leverages to support senior management in strategic projects. After a 1,5-year partnership with Alexander Hughes search firm, she partners since September 2020 with LHH-ICEO, a firm that delivers career advisory services for sitting and transitioning senior leaders.

In 2021, she joined Jean-Damien Pô and Lucie Vallée at Outsiders, convinced that with their complementary experiences and shared convictions, they can offer their clients a personalized service based on a deep understanding of their needs.
